25 BEST Alaska Cruises 2024 Prices + Itineraries: Cruises to Alaska on Cruise Critic

which cruise line is best for alaska

Cruisers of all ages will enjoy the scenery, wildlife, and once in a lifetime shore excursions available on many Alaskan cruises. Oceania’s cruise ships offer a five-star experience – not quite as decadent as some of the ultra-luxury ships sailing in the Alaska region, but a clear step above mainstream cruise lines in terms of service, decor, dining options and more. A concession plan announced in 2019 limits the visits of cruise ships to two ships per day. Cruise lines must be granted permission from the park authorities to carry passengers to this region. Currently, these include Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America, Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Seabourn, Uncruise Adventures, Viking Ocean, and a few others.

See Denali on an Alaska cruisetour

Options include Denali (the tallest peak in North America), Glacier Bay (3.3 million acres of mountain, rainforests…and, and glaciers!), Kenai Fjords (home to 40 glaciers), and Wrangell-St. Guests can also book landtours before or after their voyage, where they can experience the vast wilderness of Alaska. Princess Cruises even has its own Princess Lodges as part of its combination packages. UnCruise Adventures is a sustainability-focused line traveling the waters of the Inside Passage. Culture, regional cuisine and nature adventures are the top themes, with ports of call in the decidedly less touristy spots. At any given time, you will have an abundance of choices based on your interests.

GLACIERS WILL MOVE YOU

Cunard, a Carnival Corporation owned line, currently only sails out of Vancouver for its Alaska focused cruises. The line offers 7-13 night round-trip itineraries with the longer journeys visiting both Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier, two of the most popular visits. For those who want a true Alaskan immersion, Alaskan Dream Cruises could fit the bill. It is a small-ship cruise company that specializes in providing authentic and intimate Alaska experiences. Their five ships, ranging from 12 to 76 passengers, allow them to access remote and off-the-beaten-path destinations that larger cruise ships cannot.

Alaska Inside Passage Cruises: Calmer Waters and Big-Ticket Destinations

These ships carry over 4,000 passengers at double-capacity so it also means some of the tours taken through the ship may be fairly large groups. Don’t be surprised if it rains during your cruise, especially if you go during the peak season, but that’s just part of Alaskan weather. This sometimes means shore excursions will get canceled or postponed, so always have a backup plan. Cruise enthusiasts at the Good Housekeeping Institute are fans of Royal Caribbean for its state-of-the-art ships, exceptional service and high-quality entertainment. "Royal Caribbean had the first rock-climbing wall and ice-skating rink on a cruise ship," said Cicero.

Your best high-end bets are Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn, Silversea and Windstar. The ship's captain has the flexibility to seek out the best remote islands and bays for beachcombing, tide pooling, hiking and kayaking adventures. Alaska has become a hot spot for multigenerational family travel, with grandparents taking their kids and grandkids of all ages on a memory-making holiday. Princess Cruises is a line that offers something for everyone, and its Alaska-based Discovery Princess is our top choice for family reunion groups. Royal Caribbean's 20-year-old ship Radiance of the Seas mainly sails weeklong, one-way cruises between Vancouver and Seward, Alaska, with prices below $100 per person, per night, for inside and outside cabins on many departures.

The Best Time to Cruise Alaska: Crowds, Weather and Cost Are All Factors

Carnival, Disney Cruise Line, Norwegian, Princess and Royal Caribbean all have extensive kids clubs aboard their ships that cater to all ages, from babies to teens. Little kids will adore meet-and-greets with beloved characters onboard Disney cruises or hanging with Dr. Seuss characters when sailing with Carnival. Older kids will love the rock climbing walls, video game stations, sports courts, go-karts and laser tag on Royal Caribbean and NCL ships. The two-year-old Discovery Princess sails round trip to Alaska from Seattle, a convenient U.S. home port for families to fly or drive to. Its "North to Alaska" program will delight kids with sled dog puppies in the ship's Piazza, and lure their parents and grandparents with local seafood on restaurant menus and onboard cultural programming with Alaska residents.

Because you'll be spending a lot of time outdoors, it's important to prepare for all weather scenarios, including windy conditions common to sailing cruise ships. Silversea has “Door-to-Door” pricing on many of its Alaska cruises, meaning the cruise fare includes airfare, hotels, and all transfers—including transfers from home to the departure airport. Onboard the all-suite ships, there’s butler service in every suite, fine dining, and select shore excursions included.

which cruise line is best for alaska

According to T+L A-List travel advisor Ashton Palmer, the Alaska cruise season is short (typically from May to September) and availability is limited, which is why travelers should plan their sailings six to eight months ahead of time. Several cruise lines also offer land extensions (sometimes called “cruisetours”) to make the experience as seamless as possible. They’ll even offer last-minute specials right up until the time of sailing, but selection will be limited and the most popular shore excursions will have long wait lists. Holland America Line (HAL) — which recently snapped up a 2023 World’s Best Award in the large-ship ocean cruise line category — has been cruising Alaska for over 75 years. HAL prides itself on having more permits for Glacier Bay National Park visits than any other cruise line. The cruise line also offers beloved live music programming, which I got to experience firsthand on a summer 2023 Alaska sailing.

Disney Cruise Line's 1,754-passenger Disney Wonder (which can carry 2,713 guests when completely full) is the perfect size ship for a family cruise to Alaska. It's smaller than many of the megaships catering to families in this part of the world, so guests can view glaciers and enjoy shore excursions without feeling too crowded. Our Alaska cruises are your ticket to adventure amidst the Great Land’s glaciers, wildlife and national parks. Voyage through the untamed beauty from the comfort of our world-class ships, exclusive rail service and Princess Wilderness Lodges near national parks. Choose from a variety of Alaska cruise and cruisetour itineraries and connect with loved ones, locals and Alaska's wilderness with Princess®. Longer cruises, like the Holland America Alaska Arctic Solstice Cruise spans 28 days, and will take you from your port to the Arctic Circle.

Meals and activities (including going for high-speed Zodiac rides, kayaking, and paddleboarding) are included. Most major cruise lines also offer the opportunity for pre or post-cruise land packages that will take you by bus or train to destinations in Southcentral and Interior Alaska. If you have the time, these cruise packages give you the best of both worlds for exploring Alaska's coastal communities and some of the top sights in Alaska's heartland, including Denali National Park. We’ve gathered cruises in all size categories (from a couple of hundred passengers to nearly 5,000), as ship size is often one of the biggest factors when selecting a cruise.

In those days, Bob ran the boat while Betty and her children served treats and tea to their guests. Today, Allen Marine operates 30 vessels, including the five ships that make up the Alaska Dream Cruises fleet, all of which accommodate between 12 and 76 cruise passengers. Knowledgeable expedition leaders serve as personal guides on every voyage, sharing their expertise in biology, geography and ecology, as well as sharing about the lifestyles and legends of Southeast Alaska’s local cultures. Life aboard Alaskan Dream Cruises’ five ships is casual and relaxed, meals feature fresh Alaskan fare, and everyone strives to provide opportunities for guests to make personal connections to the region’s places and people. Nicknamed “The Love Boat,” Princess Cruises has been sailing to Alaska for more than 50 years, and is a terrific choice for couples looking to get away from it all. While onboard, Princess immerses its guests into the sites, sounds, tastes and history of the 49th state through its award-winning North to Alaska programming.

You can get a taste of the Gold Rush life by trying your hand at panning for gold, attending a salmon bake or visiting a dogsled camp. A hike on the Chilkoot Trail or ride on the White Pass Railway lets you follow in the footsteps of the miners who came to seek their fortunes. Hop a bus, kayak, boat or plane to look for bears, eagles, whales, sea otters and other wildlife. Note that moose don't regularly show up in the Inside Passage; you'll need to head farther north to find them. For these itineraries, you'll need to fly into or out of Anchorage and take a train or bus to/from the cruise departure ports, which can take an hour or two. Temperatures in Alaska can change considerably from one destination to the next.

Depending on the tour itinerary you choose, you might visit Seward and the Kenai Peninsula, Alyeska, Talkeetna, Anchorage and Fairbanks — as well as spend one to three nights in Denali National Park. Gulf of Alaska sailings — especially those in late August and September — can encounter rough seas in the gulf portion of the voyage. Additionally, you'll have one day spent cruising the Inside Passage and one focused on "scenic cruising," where you can enjoy the landscapes but won't go ashore. This is not nearly as boring as you might think since you'll see incredible sights like Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve or Hubbard Glacier. You'll find magnificent mountains (often snow-capped, even in the summertime), lush forests, waterfalls, fjords and calving glaciers.

Cheaper fares can be usually found on mainstream lines like Royal Caribbean and NCL, while Cunard, Disney and Seabourn will be more expensive. You're in luck if you're hoping to see whales on your Alaska cruise, as the majority of the cruise season coincides with whale season. Humpback whales can be found in the waters of the Gulf of Alaska and are some of the most frequently spotted, though you may also see orcas and gray whales as well. Wet weather aside, late summer months bring the best chances of seeing wildlife on expeditions. These months are also your best bet if you want active fishing trips on a shore excursion. The cost of an Alaskan cruise, of course, rises during high season and will be less expensive before and after those months during shoulder season.

Big ships can only offer deckside viewing of the marvels of Glacier Bay, but UnCruise Adventures sends its ships to the rarely visited outback. In Fern Harbor, Dundas Bay or No Name Cove, passengers can get up close to the natural wonders with birding expeditions, paddleboarding, beach walks, and more hiking and kayaking. If adventure is what you crave on an Alaska cruise, you should seek out the small ships of UnCruise Adventures. All of the line's itineraries boast an active component, but its "Wild, Woolly and Wow" itinerary claims to be "the most active back country itinerary" of UnCruise's 2024 Alaska cruises.

Or, you might enjoy a bit of scenic cruising by LeConte Glacier (where the big ships don't go) then continue the fun with hiking and biking the trails of Ideal Cove. Guided skiff tours will take guests in search of Alaskan wildlife in remote bays and secret coves. The Alaska’s Winter Sports & Northern Lights sailing takes place when most cruise lines can’t sail to Alaska. These trips take place as early as February and March and allow passengers to witness the Northern Lights and even enjoy some winter activities as skiing and ice skating. The 2,700 capacity Disney Wonder is the current ship sailing on Alaskan itineraries.

Tipping in France can be confusing since a service charge is required by law to be added to the bill in cafes and restaurants, typically in the amount of 15%. However, this amount doesn’t necessarily go to your server, so leaving a small additional tip in change or euro notes is appreciated. It’s common for people to round up the bill to the nearest euro for exceptional service or leave around 5% of the total bill. In Paris, the Champs-Elysees is the famous shopping boulevard to head to, and is flanked by the Arc de Triomphe at one end. The Champs-Elysees has high street and luxury fashion houses lining it and lots of cafes mixed in as well, which are perfect for a break from your shopping spree. If you’re into art, you can’t miss a visit to the Louvre, one of the most famous art museums in the world.

Le Havre Cruise Port: What to Do, Shore Excursions, and Beyond! UPDATED 2024

While many cruises -- both river and ocean -- feature port stops in France throughout the year, most are from early spring through late fall, with summer being the high season. To avoid the biggest crowds, visit before July and for the best deals, wait until the fall (also known as a shoulder season). Currency exchange can be made in most banks, post offices and train stations. In France, a sales tax of 19.6% (VAT) is tacked on to almost every purchase; however, if you spend 175 euros or more at any one participating store, you can get the VAT refunded (with some exceptions). ATMs and credit cards make traveler's checks nearly obsolete.

Regularly scheduled cruiseferries link to Portsmouth (England UK) - by DFDS Seaways, and to Rosslare Europort (Ireland) - by IRISH FERRIES. The distance between the port and Paris is around 200 kilometres and the journey time is very dependent on the specific situation on the road. There is no denying, the comfort of privacy means that this will be the most expensive option presented.

To see the full itineraries (ports of call dates and arrival / departure times) and their lowest rates – just follow the corresponding ship-link. The convenience of the bus is certainly the easy way to find it. You usually travel in a small group, plus the bus will be waiting for you 1000 ft/300 m from the cruise ship terminal. In addition, the way to the bus is marked with VEXPERIO signs and our experienced staff will help you if you have any problems. American Splendor Ship Stats & Information- American Cruise Lines American Splendor Cruises: Travel Weekly

american splendor cruise ship

It’s a great way of cutting down waste but unless you take a photo of your order, which some canny cruisers did, come lunchtime, let alone dinnertime, most days I’d forgotten what I’d ordered. Think of the Mississippi and it’s likely that stately Victorian paddlewheelers spring to mind. The 180-passenger American Splendor, launched in 2016 and previously called America, epitomizes all the best bits of that nostalgic concept while providing modern-day comforts to sail the river in style. We made it into a good time, but if I were a true paying customer, I would really be scratching my head as to the cost and what you receive--neither a value nor a luxury. So what follows is my opinion as a consumer, realizing that some folks are fine with paying a lot for this experience.

About Sunstone Tours & Cruises

american splendor cruise ship

But that's not what we observed on our Lower Mississippi River cruise. On that sailing, the average age was easily 75, with many passengers older than that. Because the ship has an elevator and the staff makes accommodations for people with mobility issues, it's an excellent choice for those who feel rigorous travel is beyond them.

Lower Mississippi Cruise with American Cruise Lines

American Splendor cruise itinerary program is based on Mississippi River roundtrips from New Orleans, including Grand Heartland Cruise. Some of the American Cruise Lines riverboat deals are on themed voyages. Among those themes are "Food and Wine", "Fall Foliage", "Music", the Holiday-themed sailings for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. Free of charge (complimentary) are the in-cabin WiFi Internet access (shipwide coverage), alcohol (beer and wine at lunch/dinner), unlimited drinks (soda, water, juices, coffee, tea), snacks, room-service. There are also veranda cabins for solo travelers which is a nice luxury if you’re traveling solo.

Current itinerary of American Splendor

With only 180 guests, fellow travelers will quickly become new friends sharing experiences at the evening cocktail hour or while conversing on the sun deck. After dinner, enjoy a cocktail and musical performance in the River Lounge.Experience American Splendor for yourself on our Lower Mississippi River, Music Cities, and Tennessee Rivers cruises. The shipowner American Cruise Lines (ACL) is the USA's largest river cruise company (headquarters in Guilford Connecticut) operational since 1991.

Caviar, petal-strewn baths & luxury suites: The world’s most romantic cruises

The world's newest paddlewheeler, American Splendor features serene color palettes, luxurious textiles and linens, comfortable furniture throughout, and sophisticated artwork and flourishes. From the staterooms and suites to the lounges and dining rooms, the dĂ©cor pays homage to the legendary Mississippi River.. On board, guests can relax in the casual ambiance, while admiring panoramic views of the passing scenery, from their stateroom private balcony, one of the spacious lounges, or in the elegant restaurant. Our midship lounges offer the perfect place to read a book or complete a puzzle. The Fitness Center on the 4th deck features an elliptical and exercise bikes for some added exercise.

American Splendor deck plans

The boat has two elliptical machines, two recumbent bikes and two weight machines outdoors at the back on Deck 3; the space is not covered. American Cruise Lines has announce more US riverboats and exclusive new cruises as its 2024 Mississippi rives season opens. Plus, every evening during snack time the staff get out a huge array of bottles to set up a makeshift bar in the lounge and you can again order whatever you want. While my clumsy attempts at banjo playing didn’t do justice to the musical heritage of the region, my sailing on American Splendor will immerse anyone into life on the mighty Mississippi. American Splendor has no spa, but the concierge desk will work with passengers to find a salon or spa on shore, if needed.

Cruises on the American Splendor

Additionally, indulge in the convenience of an in-room single-serve coffee brewer, premium toiletries, and complimentary WiFi. The staterooms aboard American Splendor are the most spacious in the small ship cruising industry. All range between 200 and 450 square feet in size, and feature full-size bathrooms and modern amenities. After an invigorating day, your spacious stateroom is a comfortable haven and the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Entertainment & Activities

American Splendor does not bill itself as a cruise for families, and very few children travel on the line. When they do, the cruise director works to finds activities to interest them; however, the program is not active enough to suit teens, kids or twenty-somethings. There’s one main dining room and you can sit where you want, although for the best views it’s best to bag a table around the sides or back of the ship when you’re sailing. Expect hearty, Southern-style cuisine beginning with the breakfast buffet and menu of cooked-to-order items. Similar to its sister ship the American Heritage, the American Splendor is designed to provide you modern comforts while surrounded by classic elegance and river cruise hospitality.

But it never really seemed to matter and the ever-smiling waitstaff bought whichever dish I fancied at the time. Think Creole chicken, lump crab cakes, sweet potato pie and, of course, gooey Mississippi mud pie.

The second day, tours will not go to Hana or do sunsets due to time constraints. Here you can get a charter service to explore the island or you can reserve a shuttle transfer to your activities. Or, stop by historic attractions, such as Honolulu's Iolani Palace or the Big Island's city of refuge, to learn about the ancient Polynesian culture or the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Day 15: Fun Day at Sea

Travelers with more time on their hands can also visit Hawaii as part of longer Pacific island cruises with Holland America. Koningsdam will sail a 35-night Hawaii, Tahiti & Marquesas itinerary in 2025 that combines visits to four Hawaiian islands with calls on five islands in French Polynesia and Fanning Island, Kiribati (and 20 sea days). Cruise Critic is not a booking agent and does not charge any service fees to users of our site. When you book with one of our partners, please be sure to check their site for a full disclosure of all applicable fees as required by the U.S. Whether you’re on a cruise to Honolulu from the mainland, or a cruise from Honolulu, you’ll find yourself spellbound by this magical Pacific destination. Before or after your cruise, take the time to explore the historic port of Honolulu and its lively mix of world-class dining, perfect beaches and lush, tropical landscape.

Destinations & Ports

The longer one-off journeys are more for folks wanting to explore a wide swath of the Pacific, with Hawaii being a small part of that deep dive. The best cruise for you depends on how much vacation time you have, how many islands you want to visit, whether you're looking for overnight port stays and how you feel about multiple sea days in a row. All are one-way cruises just before or after the Alaska cruise season (so late April or early October) between Oahu and Vancouver (or vice versa). The ships call on two Hawaiian islands and spend four or five days in a row at sea. Passports are required since these itineraries begin or end in Vancouver. Cruisers seeking a less traditional, more carefree Hawaii experience can have it from November to April aboard UnCruise Adventures' 36-passenger Safari Explorer.

Each vessel offers multiple complimentary and extra-fee specialty restaurants. Celebrity Solstice features Tuscan Grille for Italian specialties and steak and Murano for modern French cuisine, while Celebrity Edge offers the whimsical Le Petit Chef and the international Eden Restaurant. Most UnCruise sailings are during Maui's humpback whale season, so sightings while cruising off the coast of Maui are possible. The overnights on Maui and Kauai also mean it's possible to try several of Hawaii's signature experiences that most port calls don't allow. Passengers can catch dusk or dawn from atop Maui's massive 10,023-foot dormant volcano with sunrise and sunset excursions to the Haleakala Crater. And with the ship in port all night on Kauai, guests who want to enjoy traditional Hawaiian cuisine, music and hula performances can book the Luau Kalamaku for a fun evening out.

Round-trip Hawaii cruises from the West Coast

All these adventures are available but guests only have time to choose one of them. The small but mighty Kauai is one of the best Hawaii ports for outdoor, nature-based adventure. Get your cameras out for the rocky landscapes of the Waimea Canyon and the breathtaking cliffs of the Napali Coast. If you like hiking or kayaking, you've come to the right island, but you can also take it easy on any number of nearby beaches. Water sports are also a big draw, whether that's surfing Hawaii's waves or snorkeling with green turtles in Maui.

Many of Norwegian's specialty dining venues (which incur a surcharge) are on board, including Cagney's Steakhouse, Le Bistro (here, it's Jefferson's Bistro), Moderno Churrascaria and Teppanyaki. These sailings are perfect for active folks who want to get up close to nature. You don't have to be a true cruiser to love UnCruise, but you do need a large budget, as intimate adventures don't come cheap. However, it's not all paradise in the Hawaii cruise world because itineraries are limited. U.S. government regulations prohibit foreign-flagged ships from sailing between U.S. ports without visiting a foreign port. Sea days offer opportunities to enjoy the chic, grown-up ambience and amenities aboard these ships.

Longer one-way sailings from upscale brands, such as Oceania, Seabourn and Silversea, will traverse the Pacific Ocean between Tahiti (or another far-flung island) and Vancouver or Seattle. It also visits Maui and the island of Hawaii, as well as the smaller islands of Lanai and Molokai. Expect lots of water sports and nature-based outings, and daily plans that can change due to the weather or a whale sighting. Because most cruise ships are flagged in another country, they cannot offer interisland cruises. The rest must sail long cruises at least one-way, if not round trip, from the west coast of North America. Ships are in port for nine to 11 hours in Hawaii (Hilo), Kauai and Maui and for 16 hours in Oahu.

A cruise can be an ideal way to explore multiple Hawaiian islands in one trip and save on costs such as dinner and car rentals. Learn about Hawaiian history at the Mauna 'Ala royal mausoleum and the Iolani Palace, or Hawaiian culture at a luau or the Polynesian Cultural Center. Oahu is the turn-around port for Pride of America, so travelers should consider a pre- or post-cruise stay to see the sights. The following Hawaii ports are the ones commonly found on cruise itineraries. Additionally, lodging prices in Hawaii can be high due to its popularity as a vacation destination. Restaurants are also more expensive than on the mainland because many staples have to be shipped in from afar.

Here, we've gathered all the information you need to know to choose the perfect Aloha State sailing for your travel style, budget and allotted vacation time. Viking Neptune will also do 32-night Grand Hawaii and Polynesia sailings round-trip from Los Angeles in late 2024 and early 2025 that visit four islands in Hawaii and four in French Polynesia. For a guaranteed adults-only sailing in a relaxed, boutique-style setting, upscale cruise line Viking also offers round-trip Hawaii cruises from Los Angeles in late 2024 and early 2025 on its 930-passenger Viking Neptune. The cruise line offers numerous round-trip itineraries to Hawaii from Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego in the fall and winter. The second day is filled with unique adventures and fun for all age groups.

Please view our advertising policy and product review methodology for more information. The ship, which debuted in 2022, features sleek Scandinavian-inspired decor, a soothing spa with a complimentary thermal area, an aft infinity pool and hot tub, a panoramic Explorer's Lounge and five onboard restaurants. Specialty restaurant Manfredi's serves an extensive menu of Italian specialties, while The Chef's Table offers rotating five-course themed menus, including Asian, French and California-inspired. Additional guest favorite destinations on board include the RedFrog Pub, Alchemy Bar and WaterWorks aquapark. Expect high-voltage theater shows from Playlist Productions at night and poolside interactive contests by day. The majority of sailings are aboard the 3,080-passenger Crown Princess and Ruby Princess from San Francisco, and the 2,600-passenger Grand Princess and 3,080-passenger Emerald Princess from Los Angeles.

What to bring on a Hawaii cruise depends on which cruise you're taking. If you're on a weeklong sailing on casual NCL, you can skip the dressy clothes and prioritize casual outfits that work with whatever beachy or sporty excursions you've got planned in Hawaii. Sun hats, sunglasses, reef-safe sunscreen and water-friendly shoes are all must-pack items. Don't forget your camera (or waterproof case for your cellphone) and binoculars for whale watching. Lahaina is a major tourist destination for its restaurants, shops and boat tours, but ships must anchor and transport passengers to shore via tender boats.

‎Cruise Countdown & Picker on the App Store

carnival cruise countdown

Once logged into the Cruise App you will see a menu icon in the top right. Tap this and a menu will appear with a few options. These options will change depending on whether you already have an upcoming cruise booked on not.

How do I log into my Carnival Cruise app?

While Grand Central and the French Quarter will be highlights for many that enjoy a night out, it doesn’t mean that Carnival has forgotten about the rest of Mardi Gras. The cruise line has managed to cram fun into every corner of the vessel. While not as big as Grand Central, the French Quarter is undoubtedly something worth checking out. Deck 7 of Grand Central is the place to be for those that like to place a bet as stretched out from the Atrium to the Mardi Gras theatre is the casino.

Shipboard Health and Safety

Open your countdown in the app and you'll have the ability to add custom text. Here you can get all the information on the Carnival Internet Packages available on the ship and sign up for any specific plan. Now your experience may be different, but this wasn’t working on our last cruise. So, I’m not sure if this is limited to certain ships. As you scroll through the list of events, you will be able to tap on each one and get more info.

Carnival Hub App Chat Feature

Using the chat feature is great for situations like that. Or for keeping in touch with the kids when they are at their activities. I’ve lost count of the number of times my wife has headed up to the pool deck ahead of me. I then completed endless loops of the deck looking for her only to discover she was one deck up from where she said she was. The chat feature is a way for friends to keep in touch while on board. The Hub Chat feature does seem to cause some confusion with both new and experienced cruisers.

Carnival HUB App

On the Lido Deck, deck 16, we find the Tides Pool Bar on the aft end of the ship, while towards the forward part, we find the Red Frog Tiki Bar. Two levels of South Pacific-themed cocktails set against a brightly colored island-inspired dĂ©cor add a new twist to Carnival’s traditional poolside bar. Located at Mardi Gras’ La Piazza Italian-inspired zone is the Bar Della Rosa. This bar is located inside and outside offering stunning ocean views with comfy lounge sofas. This week we look forward to what’s in store onboard Mardi Gras. Much has been said about Carnival’s first of three mega-ships, and her first sailing is fast approaching.

Travel Documentation and Online Check-in

You can get the forecast for every day of your cruise. When you receive a message, your smartphone should give you a pop-up notification. If you want to do that, you will need at least the Social Plan Internet package – but check out this amazing little free iMessage hack we discovered.

Amazing Cruise App

A lot of the things I would need to queue for, I can now do using the app. Funtimes is a great resource, but you need to carry it around with you, and sometimes finding specific information isn’t that easy. When Carnival Cruise Line started the design process for Mardi Gras, they got one thing right straight from the start; dividing the vessel up into different zones. One of these is the Grand Central zone, with the colossal Atrium lobby as the main focal point, not just for Grand Central but also for the entire ship. Medium Widgets show your ship name, sail date, and how many days left to sailaway. Small Widgets show your ship name and how many days left to sailaway.

CRUISE HIVE NEWSLETTER

If you haven’t booked directly with Carnival, you can use the “Enter with Booking #” login option and then follow the prompts. You do not need to pay for any of the cruise Wifi packages to access the app. The application is optimized to run on smartphones. But it will also run on your Apple iPad or Google Chromebook or Tablet. You should download the CarnivalHub App before your cruise. If I lost my way on board, I would need to find an elevator area to see the Ship’s layout to figure out what deck I needed to be on next.

Features & News

No matter where you go onboard Mardi Gras, you will find a bar and some form of entertainment. Some features are available before your cruise but more functionalities become available once on board your Carnival ship. Carnival’s product team is continually working on new and improved updates to the HUB App.

So I’ll try to address all the questions I am asked about it. Surprise, surprise, it suddenly looks very different as all the onboard features are unlocked. Before your cruise, the App is very limited and is essentially just a portal for their main website. However, it still helps you plan and prepare for your cruise. Just expect to end up back on Carnival’s website and NOT on the App. Once you have successfully downloaded the app to your smartphone, you should see a new App Icon that looks like this.

I scheduled a dinner at the steakhouse (which I highly recommend) for a party of 12. A few minutes after reserving everyone, it pushed a notification to everyone’s app letting them know they have a reservation. You can also see what other people in your party at interested in attending. It a nice app as long as you are connected to their wifi. To be clear you do NOT need to purchase the wifi plan to use this. You simply connect to their on board wifi and it functions with all features.

Spread out over deck 6-7- and 8, Grand Central is one of the biggest entertainment venues at sea. Been snapped by the ship’s photographer on formal night, or have you purchased a Pixels photo package? This is where you’ll find them on ships that are digital-photo–enabled.

Here’s a quick list of all the opening and closing times of the key locations on the ship. I constantly forget what deck my favorite bars are on. So this is my favorite feature of the Carnival Hub App. You can even just type part of the name of the venue and it will jump directly to that deck. I get into the habit of checking my phone regularly if we were cruising with friends and we were all using the chat facility. If you have already got a cruise booked, you should see “Countdown to…” followed by the name of your ship and the number of days, hours, and minutes until boarding time.

The app worked great as long as the wifi worked on the ship. We went with our family and my youngest spent some time in the daycare. I really liked that the app showed if she was checked in or out of daycare and by whom. If my sister, wife or someone else on the list checked her out it showed the name of who checked her in or out and at what time. Another cool part of the app was the scheduling and reserving events. The app will remind you 15 minutes before the event to give you enough time to make it on time.

14 days before your cruise, you will get a notification that it’s time to Check-in. Good news, you can do that using the Carnival Cruise Hub App. This is where you can start planning your activities for your various ports of call. The main reason is that once on board if you haven’t purchased a Carnival Cruise WiFi package, you would need to use your Cellular data to download the App. If you have already left the port by this time, this could be very expensive if data roaming charges apply.

Before the App was created, all guests would have to appear at their Muster station at a pre-determined time. They would then receive instructions on what to do in case the ship hit an iceberg or some other calamity. You’ll find them all listed under “Packages and Deals”. All options these link back to the main website. So if you want to brag to your friends and family, or make your fellow workmates jealous, then now is the time to share your cruise booking info. I can even set reminders for events and my phone will let me know, so I don’t miss the start of that headliner show.

Unveiling the True Cost of Dental Appointments: Insights and Surprises

Unveiling the True Cost of Dental Appointments: Insights and Surprises

The cost of a dentist appointment can vary significantly depending on a number of factors, including the location of the dental practice, the experience of the dentist, and the type of dental services required. In the United States, the average cost of a basic dental checkup is around $100, while the cost of more complex procedures, such as root canals or crowns, can range from $500 to $2,000 or more.

Dental care is an important part of overall health, and regular dental checkups can help to prevent cavities, gum disease, and other oral health problems. Despite the importance of dental care, many people avoid going to the dentist due to the cost. However, there are a number of ways to reduce the cost of dental care, such as using dental insurance, visiting a dental school, or taking advantage of discounts and coupons.
